Courtyard® Anchorage Airport
The Courtyard Anchorage Airport by Marriott property is a 154 room 3 star hotel that first opened in 1997. It was the first Marriott branded hotel in Alaska and was an instant success, paying back the initial ownership investment in only five years. This was achieved through aggressive marketing and efficient hotel operations. In the years since its opening, we have remodeled this property twice, the first being a “soft” renovation, the second being a full renovation to include all case goods. This hotel has conference rooms, a restaurant and lounge which provide full service for the hotel and its meeting facilities.
Residence Inn® Anchorage
The Residence Inn brand is an all suite concept and is a clear leader in the extended stay market segment. Our Residence Inn opened in 1999 and has 148 suites. This property outperforms the competition and Marriott brand averages for extended stay occupancy by 10%. Not only does it lead the market in extended stay, but also leads the market in occupancy, averaging above 90% throughout the year. This is the result of a successful sales plan and the operational delivery that makes the Residence Inn a highly requested property among our guests.
SpringHill Suites® Anchorage Midtown
Our first SpringHill Suites hotel in Anchorage opened in 1998 and is in the “select service” category of Marriott branded hotels which are 3 star rated. This SpringHill Suites has 101 rooms that are on average 25% larger than standard hotel rooms. This hotel consistently outperforms the competition in both rate and occupancy, achieving higher than 85% occupancy throughout the year. Additionally, this hotel consistently receives Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Service scores in the 90th percentile.
SpringHill Suites® Anchorage University Lake
Opened August 2009, the new University Lake hotel is strategically located in Anchorage’s U-Med district. We anticipate occupancy to be bolstered by family of patients and students, and by visiting healthcare professionals and university staff. The newest of our Marriott franchised properties has 159 rooms and is situated on scenic University Lake with a view of the Chugach Mountains. The hotel has a fresh, open design with the latest technology including video conferencing.
SpringHill Suites® Fairbanks
The opening of this property in 2001 marked the first entry of a major franchised hotel into the Fairbanks market. This hotel has 140 rooms and is the centerpiece among a downtown revitalization program. In a market that experiences occupancy below 50% during the winter months, this property averages nearly 70% occupancy throughout the winter with rates that exceed the local market rate year round by 15%. Guest Satisfaction and Quality Assurance scores are consistently above 90%, as are their employee satisfaction scores. This hotel was recently renovated.
Grande Denali Lodge
NMS Lodging added seasonal property management to its portfolio October 2009 with the addition of the Grande Denali Lodge in Denali National Park, Alaska. The Grande Denali Lodge was rebranded while undergoing major operational improvements. The Grande Denali Lodge has 166 rooms and six cabins overlooking the Nenana River and Denali wilderness. Full service food and beverage service is provided at three on-site venues: the Alpenglow Restaurant, Peak Spirits Lounge, and Peak Espresso.
Denali Bluffs Hotel
NMS Lodging added the Denali Bluffs Hotel in Denali National Park to its portfolio in October 2009. The Denali Bluffs Hotel underwent major operational improvements and was rebranded. The Denali Bluffs Hotel has 112 guest rooms and also provides full service food and beverage service via the Mountaineer Grill and Bar and Perky Moose Espresso.
Nullagvik Hotel
The Nullagvik Hotel was built in the 1970s and, due to the severe climate in Kotzebue, employs unique design and construction techniques. This hotel was the first venture into the hospitality industry by NANA, one of our owners. This hotel has been a landmark for the last thirty years and is scheduled for replacement in the coming years. We are actively involved in the architectural design and construction planning for the new facility with the ownership group and its contractors.
Top of the World Hotel
NMS recently acquired the management contract for this 50-room facility in Barrow. We will coordinate a major renovation of this property planned for the coming year. We were solicited to operate this hotel by another Alaska Native corporation based on our success with our other hotel properties. Sorry, no photo available of this property.
